Thank you to everyone who attended and the Kirkwood Library for hosting our general meeting. We encourage you to attend, get involved and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the Kirkwood business community. 

KBOA business mixer on Thursday March 16th from 5-7:30PM is a great way to find out more while enjoying appetizers and snacks.

This year there will be a formal submission process for non-profit organizations to receive donations from the KBOA fundraiser.  Stay Tuned!

Here is your chance to contribute to the Kirkwood Business Owners' Association! Help move forward KBOA's mission of improving and connecting the business community of Kirkwood. 

NEW SECRETARY NEEDED:  Volunteer up to 10 hours per month + Business Mixers & Events . Must be a KBOA member to hold this position.

• Keeps meeting minutes for both the BOD and general body meetings. Coordination with Director for distribution to the general body.
• Secretary signs the by-laws and manages any amendments.
• Holds fiduciary responsibilities.

Required Monthly Meetings: 5 hours

• Attendance of BOD meetings on the 1st Wednesday of the Month from Noon-1:30pm at the Kirkyard Public House.

• Attendance of the General Membership meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of the Month from 11:00am- Noon at the Kirkwood Library.

• Board of Directors may not miss more than 3 meetings total per term.

• Attendance at quarterly business mixers. Not required.
  

• Shared Between All Board Members: Attendance of neighborhood association monthly meeting and NPU-O. Dates and times vary, estimated 2 hours.  Sign up for dates in advance.

Working Sessions & Follow up: +/- 5 hours

• No more than 5 hours per month during normal KBOA functions regarding preparation of meeting minutes, follow up items and emails between Board of Directors and the community.

ARTICLE WRITER NEEDED:  Volunteer up to 5 hours a month

Work with the KBOA marketing chair to produce monthly business articles for the Kirkwood Neighbor. Do not need to be a KBOA member.

• Write a 250-500 word article each month for publication in the Kirkwood Neighbor newsletter.
  
• Articles will include but not limited to interviewing a business member, KBOA business, Kirkwood Wine Stroll plus other fun ideas that you have to add.
  
• Articles are due by the 10th of the month prior to publication.  
• All articles will have your byline!

Thank you to everyone who attended and donated to our annual Holiday Party on December 6th. We had over 40 KBOA members, business owners and neighbors enjoy some end of the year cheer at Indigo Yoga, Scratch DJ Academy and Wholesome Wave.

What a wonderful way to celebrate 2016 together and look forward to what we can accomplish together in 2017. Read the 2016 Annual Review.

The open house holiday party had delicious food from Elmiyrachi, Sun in My Belly, Le Petite Marche, Anna's BBQ, The Pullman, Kirkyard Pub, Homes for Atlanta and Urban Pie. Beer and wine was provided by Kirkwood Business Owners' Association.

It was a great way to explore three different businesses within the same building.  Thanks Scratch DJ Academy for the great tunes.

KBOA members voted on the allocation of $5000 from this year's Kirkwood Wine Stroll to community projects. 19 votes have been cast, if you have not voted, please do so here by January 2, 2017.

Also, we collected about 15 toys for the APD Zone 6 Toys for Tots toy drive. Thank you to everyone for contributing a bit of joy this season.
